Hello, I'm Chloe

A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually unfolded into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to France wasn't part of our long-range plan. Like many international moves, it started with a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The early months were demanding — fresh systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks felt tougher than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Plain Ridge Trail
The majority of online information was either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in France.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in France
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated when something genuinely changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
